Every problem (I mean real problems, not made up problems ending in -phobia) are made worse by overpopulation. Climate change, environmental degradation, pollution of the oceans, mass migration and religious fundamentalism are exacerbated by the fact that there are too many people in this world. It may not be a polite thing to say but much of this population growth is happening in those parts of the world least able to cope. And it doesn’t help when religious fascists encourage women to have five children to further their political ends. Charities should be encouraging birth control and the education and liberation of women in countries where they are still second class citizens.
