Video Of The Day #31

To celebrate the long delayed start of the European Championship, the greatest sporting song of all time…

Here’s New Order performing the song live in 1998…

This song brings back fond memories for me. The England team in 1990 was probably the best I can remember in my lifetime (born 1969) and the World Cup in Italy is the one time I feel England should have won a major tournament (perhaps also the European Championship in 1996).

I very much hope that England do well in the tournament but I can’t see them winning it. Getting to the semi-finals would be an achievement and hopefully provide a springboard for the World Cup in Qatar.

Here’s some more football related ravings you may be interested in…

I Demand a People’s Season – written in response to Ipswich’s relegation to the third division in 2019.

Strange Bedfellows and Update – about the bizarre alliance between big business and Black Lives Matter. I made the error of referring to BLM as “racist Communists” in the first article. However, I do not believe that BLM is a Marxist organisation, whatever their leaders’ professed politics, but that they are racial supremacists, racists and racialists of a particularly odious kind. BLM is the National Front of the 2020s.

The Antithesis of Sport – an extended polemic against the money grubbing , middle class parasites who are destroying football.
